Doing our part at Corks and Tacos Apparel

Our love of the ocean is what started us on this journey.  With that came making sure Corks and Tacos Apparel was sensitive to creating and designing products that were not only good to our planet, but also to those who had a hand in making this dream come true.

At Corks and Tacos Apparel, we give our customers the very best eco options. The majority of our swim products are made using recycled fabrics from ECONYL yarns or American REPREVE.  Fishing nets, plastic bottles, fabric scraps and carpet flooring are just some of the items pulled from our oceans and recycled to create our eco-friendly fabrics.  Aside from fabrics, we create all of our printed items using eco-ink.  Our ladies swim line includes paper hygiene liners instead of plastic.  And all our packaging is 100% biodegradable too!!  From our eco-friendly mailers to our recycle carry bags, Corks and Tacos Apparel is doing all we can to continue down a sustainable path.

It’s not only about our planet, it’s equally important that we care for and support those who have helped us on this journey.  For what is sustainability if it’s not ethical. With that, we only work with manufacturers (both our swim and T Shirt manufacturers) who believe in transparency, exceeding minimum labour standards and adding value to theirs and our community and environment.  As well as providing exceptional working conditions, our manufacturers donate proceeds from every item to grassroots organisations that support the environment, women's access to education and those in need. And they have also implemented business development and hiring practices that raise the standards for women, health and income in the fashion industry.
